Your Vote is Your Voice

Most of you know by now that we have a passion for community ministry. A community is empowered because we empower each other, we realize that despite our differences, we are better together. It is with great pleasure that I announce that I will be traveling throughout the state to churches, and organizations within communities encouraging registered voters to VOTE!

I will begin these initiatives right here in Lake Charles, and surrounding areas. If you would like to join me in these efforts and or have relatives and friends that you would like me to connect with please don’t hesitate to inbox or fill out the form.  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfek4XmWG_WY4TrR6W9sq-rAZ1wJksqSfftiSfR5RmUD-75rg/viewform?usp=sf_link

The Tassel Was Worth The Hassle

Last night I attended my last graduation for the class of 2019. I have been a representative in this district for four months. I know time really does fly. I mentioned in a previous post about how important these graduations were to me, they put into perspective the end of what we are working for, and that is for EVERY student. don’t know about you, but for me, that is some responsibility. Most of you know I too had a graduating senior and I read a card that said the tassel was worth the hassle. Every meeting, every discussion was worth it, it was directly or indirectly related to the tassel. As many of us begin to embark on the end of the beginning, let us start with the end in mind, failure is not an option. We must put ourselves as decision-makers in a position to win because when we win the ENTIRE community wins.

Good Bye For Now To One Of Our Principals {Retirement}

I had an opportunity to see a Principal on her way out. This job isn’t easy, don’t let anyone tell you that it is. I just want to say thanks to Ms. Matthews, I’ve worked for you and with you in years past. I want you to know, it was worth it and that YOU matter. You’ve touched lives, you’ve accomplished many tasks.  Thanks for coming to work, when the sun was shining and even when it was tough. Thank you for being a part of this great team, as you begin your next chapter I speak blessings over you and your family.

Teaching and Learning : Making The Reps Count

Teaching and learning is a routine. A good fitness regimen requires getting in good reps, most effective reps are slow and steady. It’s our responsibility to give our students an opportunity to get these reps in, whether you’re a teacher or a parent learning is a process, give them an opportunity to Give, Transfer, Ask, and have Hope. These opportunities help develop good social emotional practices. Have a great day on purpose.

Hospital Visits: A Path to A New Beginning

A couple of days ago, I received a call asking if possible could I make a hospital visit  and without question I said, yes. The person on the other end of the phone said will you come we don’t know how long she has left, and we don’t know if she has accepted Christ as her personal Savior? I tell you when I got there although the patient wasn’t vocal:  she had some personality! I have never seen someone who was able to express herself quite like this patient before, then I began to ask and offer Christ and she was so accepting in that instant a blink of an eye she received Christ Jesus as her personal Savior. I left the hospital feeling overjoyed knowing that she was so blessed to have her mind to be able to be both willing and accepting.

I didn’t about how much or less time she had, I didn’t think about whose member she was ? We were members of the body of Christ and oh what joy the angels had because they received another one.

The next morning I received a call that she had transitioned and yes! The angels received another one! I learned so much in this visit, not an end but a path to a new beginning, I’m so glad that I was able to be available; you see these are moments that only few get to experience.
