The Tassel Was Worth The Hassle

Last night I attended my last graduation for the class of 2019. I have been a representative in this district for four months. I know time really does fly. I mentioned in a previous post about how important these graduations were to me, they put into perspective the end of what we are working for, and that is for EVERY student. don’t know about you, but for me, that is some responsibility. Most of you know I too had a graduating senior and I read a card that said the tassel was worth the hassle. Every meeting, every discussion was worth it, it was directly or indirectly related to the tassel. As many of us begin to embark on the end of the beginning, let us start with the end in mind, failure is not an option. We must put ourselves as decision-makers in a position to win because when we win the ENTIRE community wins.

Good Bye For Now To One Of Our Principals {Retirement}

I had an opportunity to see a Principal on her way out. This job isn’t easy, don’t let anyone tell you that it is. I just want to say thanks to Ms. Matthews, I’ve worked for you and with you in years past. I want you to know, it was worth it and that YOU matter. You’ve touched lives, you’ve accomplished many tasks.  Thanks for coming to work, when the sun was shining and even when it was tough. Thank you for being a part of this great team, as you begin your next chapter I speak blessings over you and your family.

Teaching and Learning : Making The Reps Count

Teaching and learning is a routine. A good fitness regimen requires getting in good reps, most effective reps are slow and steady. It’s our responsibility to give our students an opportunity to get these reps in, whether you’re a teacher or a parent learning is a process, give them an opportunity to Give, Transfer, Ask, and have Hope. These opportunities help develop good social emotional practices. Have a great day on purpose.
