Melonie “Lady Mel” Wallace

Affectionately known as “Lady Mel,” Sis. Melonie Wallace is a woman of faith, vision, and excellence. She is deeply passionate about empowering youth, women, and communities, and she boldly declares that God has truly favored and ordered her steps.

Lady Mel currently serves as the Leader of the Women’s Ministry at Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she ministers alongside her husband, Pastor Desmond Wallace. Through her leadership, she cultivates a Christ-centered atmosphere of growth, healing, and purpose for women of all ages.

She is a seasoned Educational Technologist with expertise in multimedia design, instructional technology, and Learning Management Systems. As a Technology Consultant in the Department of Federal Programs for her school district, she champions innovation, equity, and student achievement.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree, a Master’s in Educational Technology, 15 postgraduate hours in Instructional Technology, and an Associate’s Degree in Theology. She is also pursuing her Doctorate degree, reflecting her unwavering commitment to personal growth and service.

In 2024, she received the State Leadership Award from the National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators (NAFEPA), a distinguished honor recognizing her impactful leadership in education.

Lady Mel is also an author, having co-authored the devotional Christian Life Studies: 21 Day Daily Devotional with her husband, and authored Social Media With A Purpose: A Guide for Leaders, Nonprofits, and Churches, a practical guide for organizations seeking to navigate the digital space effectively.

In addition to her ministry and educational leadership, she is a business owner. As the founder of Wallace & Associates, she leads a management consulting firm dedicated to empowering businesses, institutions, and communities to reach their full potential. Wallace & Associates specializes in business process improvement, change management, strategic planning, community outreach, and technological needs, offering innovative and strategic solutions tailored to each client’s unique mission and goals.

Lady Mel is also a committed advocate for digital equity and diversity. Her work addresses crucial issues, including poverty, culture, innovation, disruption, education, and leadership, believing that real transformation begins when vision is combined with compassion and action.

Her ministry background also includes roles as Youth Director and Multi-Media Director, where she served with excellence and heart.

Above all, Lady Mel is a devoted wife and mother. She and Pastor Wallace are the proud parents of four adult children: Darrius (Jeannie), Deseree’, and Danyele.

Whether in the church, the classroom, the boardroom, or the community, Sis. Melonie Wallace continues to lead with grace, serve with passion, and shine as a powerful witness of God’s faithfulness.
